maple peach basil lemonade
Ingredients
Peach syrup
- 2½ cups of diced peaches (4-5 peaches, skin on)
- 80ml (⅓ cup) dark maple syrup
- 500ml (2 cups) water
- 10 basil leaves
Lemonade
- ½ cup of fresh lemon juice (approx. 3 lemons)

1l chilled water

Fresh basil leaves and sliced peaches for the decoration
Method
- Prepare the peach sirup. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add diced peaches, dark maple syrup, water and fresh basil leaves. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the peaches are tender. With a hand mixer, mash the peach mixture.
- Let the mixture sit in the fridge for 1 hour to cool down completely and infuse the flavours. Drain with a strainer and keep only the liquid from the mixture to create a juice.
- Add the remaining ingredients: lemon juice, maple syrup, water, ice, basil leaves and sliced peaches. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Serve in small glasses and enjoy!
